Purpose

The Parish Nurse Ministry at The Associated Church encourages health, healing, and caring for members and friends of this community of faith. This ministry works to reflect God’s love by promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

 

Our Parish Nurse is available as a…

Personal Health Counselor to discuss health issues and concerns with individuals and families and to make home, hospital, and nursing home visits as needed.

Health Educator to educate and support individuals and families of all ages through an emphasis on prevention of disease and promotion of wellness.

Referral Source to assist individuals and families in identifying and accessing community health resources and agencies for services.

Integrator of Faith and Healing to promote an understanding of the relationship between body, mind and spirit as well as the role of values, attitudes, lifestyle and faith.

 

Meet our Parish Nurse

Sandy Greenwood is a registered nurse who has received specialized education centered on providing a Parish Nurse Ministry to our church family and friends. Sandy is also a Certified Diabetes Nurse Educator.

 

Office Hours

The Parish Nurse Office is located just inside the East Entrance to the Church, and is open on Tuesday mornings from 9-12. Drop in visits and phone calls are welcomed. There is NO CHARGE for visits, health information or counseling, or blood pressure checks. The Parish Nurse is also available through e-mail (sandy@theassociatedchurch.org) and messages can also be left with the church office staff for needs which occur outside of her office hours.

 

Monthly Blood Pressure Screening

Monthly blood pressure checks are available on the first Sunday of each month (Communion Sunday) from 10-10:45 AM in the Parish Nurse Office. This service is available to anyone.
